We’re clapping for carers, painting rainbows on windows and buying groceries for our elderly neighbours. But wouldn’t it be great if we could spread a little extra positivity to others, just by doing a spot of online shopping?
At this time of urgent need, Pour Moi wants to give something back just as much as you do. And that’s why we’re launching our Charity Edit campaign. From lingerie and nightwear to bikinis and clothing, it’s a Charity Edit that’s full of gorgeous items to help you look good, feel confident and do your bit, all at the same time!
Why we’re launching our Charity Edit
As Michael Thomson, Pour Moi founder, explains, “We have already produced our high summer collection and it’s arriving as we speak. We didn’t want to cancel orders with our factories because of the impact this would have on them, so we’ve decided to do some good with it instead!”
We’ll be donating 50% of the sales from our Charity Edit campaign to four incredible charities who are working tirelessly to support vulnerable people through the crisis. Your generosity will mean that Age UK, Samaritans, domestic abuse charity RISE and East Cheshire Hospice will be able to carry on their vital work during the pandemic.
“Our amazing employees nominated charities to support during this time, and it was such a tough decision to choose just four of them” says Michael. “But we hope that we raise a lot of money for these very worthy causes and that we can continue to support others going forward.”
“Our target is to raise at least £100,000 from this collection for these fabulous causes, split equally between them. We hope everyone will come together to raise as much as we possibly can to support these fantastic charities.”

How the pandemic has affected charities
It’s never been more important to support charities in the work they do, as Karyn Johnston, Director of the East Cheshire Hospice explains.
“Due to the ongoing effects of Covid-19, almost all our events and community activities have been cancelled, our retail shops have closed, and our ability to generate sustainable income has been severely impacted overnight. We are estimating that a third of our annual income may be lost due to Covid-19, which equates to roughly £1 million pounds in lost income. This loss of income could have a devastating impact on our ability to offer expert care to those who need it.”
“The support of Pour Moi is needed now more than ever, and we can’t thank them enough for choosing a local charity to be part of this fantastic fundraising initiative.”
Items with impact
From beautiful summer lingerie to dresses designed with curves in mind, buy any one of the items from our Edit, and you won’t just look great, you’ll feel great about your purchase too, knowing it’s brought a little comfort to someone else.
As Jo Gough from domestic abuse charity RISE told us, “We’d like to thank each and every woman who takes the opportunity to treat themselves to something from this range, for helping us to reach more people who need our support in these unprecedented times. With your help we can continue to keep them safe and help them recover.”
How you can help
The Charity Edit will be available on our website from 1st May 2020 to 1st July 2020. We hope that this provides a unique and meaningful way for shoppers to give back and have a positive impact on society’s most vulnerable.
We’ve also created the Instagram hashtag #LetsDoThis to help spread awareness. Our employees are all taking photos of themselves making the love heart symbol, so why not join them and share the love?
The charities we’ve chosen
There are so many charities out there that are losing a large part of their funding due to the cancellation of fundraising events and closure of charity shops. The four charities were all nominated by Pour Moi staff, whose spirits have been lifted by being able to help others during these tough times.
Age UK
The coronavirus pandemic has changed life for everyone, but older people are among the hardest hit. Age UK is determined to be there for older people during the crisis, but demand for its services is at an all time high. It can’t carry on its vital work without your support.
“Thank you so much to Pour Moi for their thoughtful support during this exceptionally challenging time. This is a period of great anxiety for everyone, but especially for older people and their loved ones. Age UK is determined to be there for older people who need our help and especially for those who have no one else to turn to in this time of crisis. Thank you for making sure we can respond to the growing needs and unprecedented demand we’re seeing.” - Laurie Boult, Age UK Fundraising Director.
Samaritans
Samaritans is a critical service at all times. But with the pandemic affecting our mental health in record numbers, it’s needed more than ever. Samaritans are committed to helping those who are struggling, however they can.
“Before Coronavirus hit, our 20,000 volunteers were answering a call for help every six seconds.? This could be someone you know, family or friends in urgent need but unable to talk to anyone in the middle of the night. It is more important than ever for Samaritans to be there 24/7, 365 days a year for those who need us. Our helpline is feeling the pressure. We’re likely to experience more people struggling to cope or in crisis. We may have less volunteers to help answer calls for help - currently, around 30% of our volunteers will be self-isolating.”
RISE
RISE is an independent, Brighton-based registered charity that helps people affected by domestic abuse. They offer practical help ranging from direct advice to refuge accommodation, as well as programmes to help people rebuild their lives after experiencing domestic abuse.
“We are so honoured to be chosen as one of the charities to benefit from Pour Moi’s ‘Charity Edit’ campaign, which will bring in much needed funds in one of the most challenging times RISE has ever had to operate in. Every garment sold will help support our vital work, meaning women and children have somewhere to turn as incidents of domestic abuse in the UK continue to increase as the lockdown continues.” - Jo Gough, RISE CEO
East Cheshire Hospice
East Cheshire Hospice is a warm and welcoming space for adults facing life-limiting illness. Not only do they provide expert care, their Wellbeing Centre can help patients and their families develop coping strategies, manage the symptoms of their illness and learn how to live well after their diagnosis.
“At a time of worry and uncertainty for all, we are blown away by the generosity shown by Pour Moi and their staff locally. Their support at this difficult financial time really does reflect what a wonderful community we have the pleasure of serving.”” - Karyn Johnston, Director of the East Cheshire Hospice
