Ever wondered what it’s like to work with influencers and Ambassadors? Are you passionate about social media? Georgia Moore-Hemsley – PR & Marketing Assistant
What goes on in the day-to-day job as a PR & Marketing Assistant?
My day usually starts with checking all our social media platforms and having a look over our recent and tagged posts. I then take time to see what is ‘trending’ for the day and usually jump on board with a relevant post and tweet. I will then share any new products on social too.
One of my main responsibilities is to look after influencers we collaborate with alongside our #TeamPourMoi Ambassadors, so I will go through my emails and respond to any messages from them.
Apart from that every day is different depending on what campaigns we have coming up. I basically just work to get fun and engaging content created!
How did you get into the industry?
My mum always told me that it was really important to do what you love, in all aspects of life and that has really stuck with me. When I was at college, I did lots of unpaid work experience in the industry. I worked at London Fashion Week, magazines, and fashion departments of any company I could. I then went on to do Fashion Communication & Business Studies at Brighton Uni.
Aside from that, I collaborated with brands as an influencer on my personal Instagram account. I have always loved lingerie, so, I use to create a lot of lingerie-based content for brands, Pour Moi being one of them! When the position of PR & Marketing Assistant came up, I felt like it was made for me, and with a bit of luck, here I am!
What do you love most about your job?
There are so many things I love about my job; I love that I can be creative and I’m able to execute my ideas. Although the thing I love most, is the confidence and self-love which so many influencers and Ambassadors find after collaborating with us. Sharing a photo of you wearing lingerie can be a daunting thing for some as the world has unfortunately promoted an unrealistic version of what women should look like.
However, I have had lots of feedback from women, who have said that after working with us they feel sexy and liberated. I love that I play a part in making people feel that way and that I am able to spread the message!
What has been your career highlight?
I recently organised a Pour Moi Photoshoot, which is a bit of a pinch me moment. This was a shoot for social content, with five of our ambassadors. I had full creative control – from booking the shoot location, to the products for the shoot. I had such a great time organising and running the shoot. Sometimes I can’t believe that a day shooting with amazing women in a gorgeous location, even counts as work! I am very grateful.
What was your biggest learning curve?
It is a silly one, but it was a big learning curve... don’t bring your very needy and playful puppy to a Christmas shoot. It is impossible to photograph flat lays of lingerie surrounded in baubles and mistletoe with her around. I nearly cried with frustration! Not doing that again!
What are you loving at Pour Moi at the moment?
I love everything in the #IndiaLovesPourMoi collection designed by our babe India Reynolds. Staple black or white pieces are a bit of me, and the gold hardware details matches my jewellery. I love that many of the bras can be worn to be seen too, perfect for a night out.
What advice would you give someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?
I would tell them to never give up! Get involved with anything and everything that you can for the experience, you never know what you are going to learn and who you might meet.
Speaking of influencers, you are one yourself! What do you enjoy most about working with influencers and Pour Moi Ambassadors?
I love working with influencers and our Pour Moi Ambassadors because they are all amazing and inspiring women. As the Ambassador Scheme runs for six months, I am able to create a relationship with everyone in the team and I have made many friends out of it. It is great to help create a community of inspiring women.
